How To Plan For A Success 2022

Last week I held an Annual Planning Day for our Members Club to help our members map out their strategic priorities to reach their 2025 goals. Yes, 2025 goals!

 

The reason we focused partly on 2025 was because what you do in 2022 should be an increment to get to your long-term goals. 

 

If you are interested, this is the process we followed:

 

1. Review 2021 
Reviewing the year that is ending helps us get insight that we can take into the next year. At first, we didn't focus on our 2021 goals, we focused on general reflections. This helps us really understand how we felt about the year, what we were most proud of, what the lessons were. Then we looked specifically at what we set out to achieve and how that went. 

 

2. Think Forward to 2025 
Everything starts with a vision. The same with our dreams. What are our dreams for our life, what are our dreams for our businesses? Then we brought it closer to us right now and what we were planning for... December 2022. What do you want to say was true?

 

3. Strategic Planning 
Our businesses are made up of more than just us, so we mapped out what we wanted to be true in 2025 for each of these 7 areas: Impact, Revenue & Profit, Products & Services, Customers, Operations, Team, Sales & Marketing Activities. We then identified what needed to happen in 2022 to make our 2025 vision a possibility. 

 

4. Business SWOT
We have to know our weaknesses, in particular, to know what we could strengthen to mitigate some threats that are coming our way. It also helps to prioritise what we want to focus on in 2022. 

 

5. Goals 2022
By now we should have an idea what we want to focus on in 2022. We have learnt lessons from 2021, we have visualised the future we want, we have mapped out our business in 2025, we identified our weakenesses in our business and now we are to determine our 2022 goals. They should be Specific, Measureable, Actionable, Risky, Timely, Exciting, Relevant.
